Downtown Parking Lot Closed March 16 & 21

Due to a geographical survey being conducted, the City parking lot on Michigan Avenue and Main Street will be temporarily closed on Friday, March 16 from 7 am – 4 pm. All parking on the northern border of the lot will be closed temporarily from 7 am to 5 pm on Wednesday, March 21. Downtown visitors are encouraged to use the new Citrus parking lot during the closures.




Reminder of Future Park Workshop on March 15

City staff have started gathering input from the community regarding a new park planned for Vista. Two community workshops are planned and the public is invited to either of the two Park Design workshops on March 15 or 24. The future park site is located along Civic Center Drive and Pala Vista drives.




City Council Sets New Goals

During the March 6 City Council workshop, the City Council discussed their 2016/18 goals and updated them for the next two years. These key goals help to guide the policymaking of the city government. The City is in the midst of preparing the fiscal year’s budget and the updated goals will also guide the decision-making for this budget.   




Parent's Night Out Friday

The Recreation and Community Services Department offers Parent's Night Out this Friday night. Parents can drop their kids off at the Jim Porter Recreation Center from 5 pm to 9:00 pm where they will be entertained with activities, games, and more. For kids ages five - 11. Cost is $10 per child.




Civic Gallery March Exhibitions

The month of March finds two exhibitions on view at the Civic Gallery. Through March 16 is the VUSD Art Show featuring works by students in the Vista Unified School District. On March 20, a new exhibition opens, "Carolyn Robertson: Reflections of People, Places, and Things."




American/Irish Singer at Vista Library

The public is invited to the Vista Library on Sunday, March 18 at 1:30 pm to listen to Gregory Page, an American and Irish singer, songwriter, and guitarist. For more information, contact the library at 760.643.5100.
